Belfast-based singer-songwriter Stephen Elliott has been busy recently, dropping a series of fantastic folky tracks. One of his most recent, ‘Cary Baru’, provides us with delightful acoustic guitar melodies and perfectly subtle strings. His multi-layered vocal is the star of the show, delivering luscious, smooth melodies like they’re going out of fashion, but it’s impossible not to mention the bells and whistles that come with it. Literally. A lot of the track’s charm can be found in the distant whistles and the almost Christmassy sleigh bell that enters towards the end.
